Works pretty well for notetaking, especially with a paper feel screen protector on the iPad Mini GEN five. I took it over to the local Apple store, and compared using this pencil to an apple GEN one pencil on an iPad, no screen protector. The Apple Pencil was quieter, and I thought slightly more responsive, but not much. And once I put the paper feel screen protector on my mini, this one was plenty quiet and worked well enough. Definitely a lot less expensive than an Apple Pencil.
